Hello! My name is Husna Juliani, but my peers and colleagues mostly know me as 'J'. I found that over the years of being active in secondary school, I began to develop a liking towards writing (excluding the essays part).
What inspired me to start writing? A lot but mostly it is from my family who loves writing too. For example, my Great-grandfather published a book at the age of 80 plus. My mother also has several poetries that she co-published with her peers and my aunt who I love exchanging poetries with.
I started writing poetry at 16 when my teacher began enrolling me on several poetry competitions and I won them. This was a turning point because I began to write poetry even more after the competition.
I also started to enjoy writing when my siblings and friends would pay me to write love poetry on their behalf for their partners. I would charge them 10 ringgit per poetry and to my surprise they did pay me!
I began to write even more when I was diagnosed with ADHD so I use poetry as a way of coping.
Diary of a Poet is the first book that I wrote compiling all my struggles dealing with my mental issues. Forgotten Letters is a book that I am currently working on that consists of sappy poetry :).
